Amherst County Service Authority Completes Distribution of Municipal Utility Relief Program Phase 3

Amherst County Service Authority just completed distribution of Municipal Utility Relief Program Phase 3 grant monies provided by the State.

 Amherst County Service Authority just completed distribution of Municipal Utility Relief Program Phase 3 grant monies provided by the State.  ACSA received $46,291.28 at the end of 2021 and applied the money to ACSA customers that had utility account arrearages on August 31, 2021, with an average of over $270 given to 171 ACSA customers.  The State also assisted ACSA customers in 2020 (MURP Phase 1, $26,915.07) and 2021 (MURP Phase 2, $6,098.11), making a total of over $79,300 in State grant assistance in the past 3 years for ACSA customers who, from COVID or other issues, had trouble paying their utility bills.  The State Dept. of Social Services is also developing a Low Income Household Water Assistance Program to be launched later in 2022; news on that will be forthcoming as it is received.
